The Fuzzy Needle presents a night of words and song with NYC-based author Laurie Gwen Shapiro. She’ll read from her new book The Aviator and the Showman, a radical re-telling of the Amelia Earhart story and the decade-long marriage that shaped her life and career.
Afterwards, we’ll have a Q & A moderated by John Jeremiah Sullivan, the southern editor for the Paris Review. We’ll also be treated to original music from Wilmington’s own nightingale Julia Rothenberger.
Doors open at 6:30 PM. Music begins at 7:00 PM, followed by the reading and the Q & A. The night will close with a live DJ set and a chance for conversation and connection.
Admission is $10, with all proceeds going to the Cape Fear Literacy Council. The event is likely to sell out, so please purchase tickets in advance below. For ticket questions, email tim@thefuzzyneedle.com.
