His desert-inflected psych rock has earned critical acclaim from Pitchfork and Rolling Stone. Moctar’s latest album Tears of Injustice is an acoustic reworking of 2024’s Funeral for Justice; as the band writes, the record conveys “the grief of a nation locked into a constant churn of poverty, colonial exploitation, and political upheaval.”
