After a great Q&A with author Laurie Gwen Shapiro earlier this year, we’re welcoming poet and musician Lee Bains to the shop to celebrate his debut poetry collection Work Lunch, which comes out Oct. 13th. In these poems, Bains, an Alabama native, puts Southern foodways under the microscope — and in doing so, examines the complexities of Southern life, labor and struggle.
